Buy a Used EV. Instantly Get 30% Off Up to $4,000.
Now you can purchase a used electric vehicle anywhere in the United States and qualify for the federal tax credit which covers 30 percent of a used EV’s purchase price, up to $4,000.
If you’re considering it, don’t delay. All federal tax credits for new and used plug-in vehicles will go away on Sept. 30.
The “Big Beautiful Bill” approved by the Congress and signed by President Donald Trump eliminates all three federal EV tax credits, known as 30D, 25E and 45W for new EV purchases, used EV purchases, and commercial/leased EVs.
However, until that deadline, buyers can get $7,500 off the price of a new EV. For leases, the leasing company claims the $7,500 credit and passes the savings through to customers in the form of a discounted monthly payment.
Used EVs must cost under $25,000 and be model years 2023 and earlier.
Here’s the new, special benefit for EVA members and supporters: Private party sales are not normally eligible for the EV tax credit, unless you use KeySavvy; the seller must be a licensed dealership. When you utilize KeySavvy to buy an EV, you're buying from a licensed dealership, so your used EV purchase will qualify, if all other federal requirements are met.
How Does It Work?
Find your perfect used EV: Search any used car site and use the KeySavvy EV Tax Credit Tool to find a qualifying EV. You can pay any seller on any marketplace in all 50 states.
Tell your seller about KeySavvy: Ask your seller to add their vehicle to KeySavvy. When you accept their price, select that you plan to apply for the federal used EV tax credit. KeySavvy will help ensure the vehicle is eligible.
Get the tax credit right away: Choose to transfer your tax credit to KeySavvy and you'll only need to pay the remainder. KeySavvy will receive the credit directly from the IRS after you pick up your EV.
Pick up your car: KeySavvy will provide your seller with instructions for signing and mailing their title to KeySavvy and KeySavvy will give you a temporary permit to use while waiting for the title.
How You’ll Benefit
KeySavvy protects buyers from title fraud while making it easy to securely pay a private seller with trusted online tools.

You're guaranteed to receive a clear title.

The proceeds will fund EVA services that enable our members and chapters to help people in their local communities learn about all the benefits of driving electric.
How Much Does It Cost?
Buyers and sellers each pay a fee of $99.
If the vehicle has a loan, KeySavvy charges the seller an additional $99 to pay off the loan as part of the sale. There is a $95 buyer fee when claiming the EV tax credit.
Buyers and sellers can split fees equally, or have one party pay all fees. KeySavvy is paid when the transaction completes they never charge a cancellation fee.
EV Sellers Can Use It, Too
If you want to sell your used EV, KeySavvy protects you from payment fraud and makes it easy to sell a vehicle privately.
KeySavvy provides a private link or QR code that you can share with your buyer or list your car for sale wherever you like. You can include the link or QR code image in advertising to deter scammers.
Buyers can use your payment link to pay online using their bank account and you'll get an email when it's OK to hand over the keys. There's no need to handle cash or verify a cashier's check.
Link a bank account and get paid by KeySavvy via direct deposit or by check. If you have your vehicle title, KeySavvy will provide detailed instructions for signing and mailing it to KeySavvy. If you have a loan, KeySavvy will pay it off as part of the transaction.
