Announcing Our 2026 Board Election Winners

Seven exceptional leaders have been elected to serve three-year terms beginning this January, bringing diverse expertise and fresh perspectives to guide the organization through this transformative period in electric transportation.

Meet Your New (or Returning!) Board Members:

David Ewing

With more than 15 years as a transportation consultant specializing in automated transport, David brings a crucial insight to the board: policy and public knowledge are often more critical to success than technology alone. An electrical engineer from Georgia Tech, David has observed a consistent pattern throughout his career: people embrace the clearest solutions rather than the most technically superior ones. His ability to translate complex technology into accessible policy will be invaluable as EVA advocates for sensible EV infrastructure and adoption strategies.

Kate Kruk

Kate's three years of dedicated service to EVA have already yielded meaningful progress in advancing EV adoption and strengthening the community. Far from satisfied with past accomplishments, she's motivated by the conviction that the organization is "just getting started." Kate is eager to continue building momentum, fostering strategic partnerships, and expanding opportunities within the EV ecosystem to accelerate the clean transportation transition.

Terri Kirsch

As the current President of EVA's National Board, Terri brings the leadership, stability, and vision necessary for the organization to thrive during this pivotal era. Her journey through every key executive role, President, Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary, has given her unparalleled institutional knowledge and a proven track record of delivering results. Terri's continuity and experience will be essential as EVA navigates the rapidly evolving EV landscape.

Ashley Lynn Qua

Ashley sees the transition to clean transportation as far more than a technological shift. For her, it represents a profound opportunity to build a sustainable and equitable future. Central to her leadership philosophy is the power of communication, specifically, the ability to make complex ideas simple so that the right message resonates with the right audience. This skill will be critical as EVA works to educate and engage diverse communities across the nation.

Kathryn Urquhart Dunican

Kat views EVA as a vital force in the nation's transition to electric transportation, serving as an essential bridge between local grassroots advocacy and national policy dialogue. Her commitment centers on strengthening this impact through strategic leadership, robust fundraising, and enhanced collaboration across the organization's chapters and partners. Kat understands that lasting change requires coordination at every level, from neighborhood advocates to Washington policymakers.

Amy Rogghe

As founder of the Michigan Electric Vehicle Alliance (MEVA), Amy is deeply passionate about ensuring a swift and equitable transition to all-electric transportation. Her leadership represents a unique merger of personal history and professional dedication, rooted in a lifelong connection to the automotive industry and an unwavering commitment to public welfare. Amy brings a critical perspective on how to make EV adoption accessible and beneficial for all communities.

Phil Leppla

Driven by a commitment to tackling the climate crisis, Phil serves as General Counsel for the Sustainable Ohio Public Energy Council. His work is motivated by a personal mission to secure a sustainable future for the next generation. Phil approaches every professional endeavor through a dedicated "sustainability lens," ensuring that legal and policy decisions align with long-term environmental goals.

Gratitude and Looking Forward

EVA extends heartfelt thanks to all candidates who participated in this election. Their willingness to serve demonstrates the strength and vitality of our grassroots movement. We're equally grateful to our members who made their voices heard through the voting process. Your participation ensures that EVA remains a strong, member-driven leader in the transition to clean transportation.

With this talented and diverse board, EVA is well-positioned to advance electric vehicle adoption, advocate for smart policy, and build the community infrastructure needed for a sustainable transportation future. We look forward to the important work ahead and to the continued growth of our community.

The transition to electric transportation is accelerating, and with these seven leaders joining the board, EVA is ready to meet the moment.
