Celebrate the Changemakers: Announcing the 2026 EVA Annual Awards

The future is electric, and you’re leading the way. And EVA will again honor the pioneers, the problem-solvers, and the persistent advocates who made 2025 a landmark year for electric mobility.

The transition to electric transportation doesn't happen overnight. It takes grit, innovation, and dedicated people working behind the scenes and on the front lines to move the needle. The 2026 EVA Awards will celebrate exactly that.

  • Do you know a chapter leader who grew their ranks against the odds?

  • A utility that made home charging a breeze?

  • An influencer who told the real story of long-term ownership?

Now is your chance to shine a spotlight on the people and organizations energizing our communities!

2026 Award Categories

We are accepting nominations across nine distinct categories, highlighting every corner of the EV ecosystem:

  • EVA Chapter of the Year: Recognizes the EVA chapter that has most effectively grown the "electric movement" at the grassroots level. This award honors excellence in community events, member recruitment, and creative local advocacy that makes EVs approachable.

  • EV Educator of the Year: Awarded to an individual or program, academic or professional, that has gone above and beyond in training the next generation of EV technicians, first responders, or the general public.

  • EVA Champion of the Year: This is the "MVP" award for a dedicated EVA member who has personally influenced their community’s transition to electric. From hosting dozens of ride-and-drives to being the go-to resource for neighbors, this champion embodies the spirit of the association.

  • EV Business Member of the Year: Honoring a business that has actively led by example. This award focuses on companies that implemented creative charging solutions for employees or customers in 2025. This award is only open to EVA business members.

  • Charging Reliability Champion: In a year where uptime became the most critical metric for adoption, this award honors the individual or entity that worked tirelessly to ensure EV drivers had seamless access and high quality user experiences. Whether through reporting broken chargers, collaborating with site hosts on maintenance, or advocating for higher uptime standards, they are the reason drivers travel with confidence.

  • EV City of the Year: Specifically highlighting cities that integrated EV charging into multi-unit dwellings (apartments/condos) or created curbside charging for residents without garages; passed EV friendly ordinances; or supported streamlined permitting and siting for EV chargers.

  • Utility of the Year: Maintaining a positive relationship with customers can be a high-voltage challenge, but this utility has truly energized its community. By prioritizing quality customer service and "best-in-class" EV programs, they’ve made the transition feel seamless.

  • Legislative Ambassador of the Year: Awarded to a public official who has successfully championed EV-friendly policy at the local, state, or federal level. This person navigated the complex political landscape of 2025 and exemplified a commitment to clean transportation.

  • EV Influencer of the Year: For the content creator who pivoted in 2025 to focus on "real world" long-term ownership. This award recognizes those who moved past 0–60 times to discuss battery health, cold-weather performance, and the used EV market. When federal incentives shifted, this creator stepped up to show prospective drivers the long-term financial and functional benefits of making the switch.
