Join Valley of the Sun EVA for the Route 66 Fun Run!

By Valley of the Sun EVA

Electric Vehicle Association Chapter Leads: join Valley of the Sun Electric Vehicle Association (VOTSEVA) and DRIVE Electric Arizona (DEAZ) in electrifying the 37th Historic Route 66 Fun Run (Centennial year!) on May 1–3, 2026—and help us create the largest EV showing the Fun Run has ever seen.

If you’ve never done the Fun Run, it really is a blast: a rolling celebration of Route 66 with great people, great photo ops, and unforgettable small-town Arizona vibes—now with an electrified twist. It’s also a perfect way to build EVA community across chapters—meeting fellow members, swapping road-trip tips, and strengthening our regional network in one unforgettable weekend.

Since 2022, VOTSEVA and DEAZ have steadily grown EV participation in this traditionally vintage internal-combustion event as part of our broader work to accelerate EV adoption across rural Northern Arizona. Across both organizations, Route 66 has become a core strategic focus—not only as a transportation corridor, but as a storytelling platform that connects America’s mobility past with its clean transportation future. It’s a simple, high-impact idea: put EVs visibly into one of the most iconic Route 66 celebrations anywhere—proving EV road-tripping is here, it’s fun, and it supports Route 66 towns and tourism in the Centennial moment.

We’re inviting EVA chapters across the region—especially Tucson, California, Nevada, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado (and beyond)—to bring as many EVs as you can. Our record is 30 EVs in 2023 (including one from the Seattle Area). Let’s top 30 in 2026.

Key EV moments include an EV Showcase hosted by DEAZ’s Native Nations Chapter at the Hualapai Tribe’s headquarters in Peach Springs on Saturday, May 2 (9:00 AM–Noon), plus an EV arrival social in Kingman at the Route 66 Electric Vehicle Museum.
