Hit the Road: Join the Wisconsin EVA’s 2026 Electric Vehicle Road Trip

The Wisconsin chapter of the EVA is set to once again host a Road Rally around the beautiful state of Wisconsin, with the tentative route and details for their 2026 adventure now available.

Whether you’re a seasoned EV road-tripper, a curious newcomer, or an advocate for clean energy, this two-day convoy is the perfect way to demonstrate the power, range, and infrastructure of fully electric driving while exploring the gorgeous, diverse landscapes of Wisconsin.

Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming 2026 adventure:

The Route: A Fun and Scenic Drive Through Wisconsin (Tentative)

The Road Trip planning committee is finalizing the details, but they have released an exciting sneak peek at the tentative 2026 route:

  • August 14: Green Bay to Wausau The adventure kicks off in Green Bay with a fun morning gathering for breakfast at 7:30 AM, and tour of legendary Lambeau Field at 9:15 AM. From there, the convoy will head up to Sturgeon Bay, cruising the bay side of the stunning Door County Scenic Byway and looping back down along the Lake Michigan side. After grabbing lunch in Sturgeon Bay, drivers will travel west to wrap up the first day in Wausau, WI, around 6 PM.

  • August 15: Wausau to Eau Claire After fueling up with coffee and breakfast in Wausau, the group will leave around 9 AM and drive north to Ashland, WI, for lunch and entertainment. Once drivers and their vehicles have recharged, the route shifts to a breathtaking cruise along the Lake Superior Scenic Byway. Finally, the convoy will head south, crossing the finish line in the Eau Claire area for a wrap-up celebration with great food and fun (exact finish line TBD).

Road Trip Rules & Registration

The Wisconsin EVA wants this event to be a massive celebration of zero-emission travel. Here is what you need to know before you register:

  • 100% Electric: Only fully electric cars and trucks can participate (no hybrids or plug-in hybrids). All makes and models are encouraged to join.

  • Out-of-Staters Welcome: You do not need to be a Wisconsin resident to join the fun. This event is open to drivers from any state.

  • Safety First: All drivers must have a valid driver's license, current auto insurance, and obey all posted speed limits and traffic laws along the route.

Entry Fees:

  • EVA Members: $0! The trip is completely free for any current EVA member nationwide.

  • Non-Members: $100 per participant (18 years and older).

    • Bonus: This $100 fee automatically includes a one-year enrollment as a member of the Wisconsin EVA (or the chapter nearest to your home state).

Earn a Free Entry by Spreading EV Awareness

The EVA is all about education and getting "butts in seats." The Wisconsin chapter is offering incredibly unique ways to earn free entry into the road trip if you help spread the word to EV skeptics and curious friends:

  1. The 2-EV Household: If you own two EVs, let a curious or skeptical friend/family member borrow your second EV for the road trip. (Limit one free entry).

  2. Bring a Newbie: Drive your EV on the road trip and bring along a friend or family member who has never road-tripped in an EV before (limit one free entry).

  3. Sponsor a New EV Driver: If you own an EV but can't make it to this year's road trip, loan your vehicle to a curious friend or family member so they can experience it. (Limit one person per sponsor; sponsoring a driver gets the sponsor a free one-year EVA membership).
