Credit Cards Embrace EV Charging

For years now, certain credit cards have offered rewards, like points or cash back, for spending in certain categories like gas stations. Some people have wallets filled with cards that they selectively use to get the best rewards for those categories. EV Charging, however, was never included in those categories due to the relatively small group of people who would potentially utilize it, and that the merchant networks didn’t have a dedicated EV charging category. One of the most popular cards to include EV charging is the Sam's Club Mastercard, which has a 5% cash back reward for EV charging, up to $6,000 a year. The Wells Fargo Autograph Card gives users 3 points per dollar on EV charging, while the PenFed Platinum Rewards Visa Signature Card returns 5 points per dollar. There are plenty of other cards out now that also include them. So as an EV driver, it might pay to look for EV charging as a rewards category for your next credit card, or even check to see if your current ones have added the category.
